Following the closure of the competition and a period of judging, the final winners of the Pentagon Community Fund have been confirmed and officially announced this week. A total of over 40 applications were received from around the Chatham area in just one month, and the judging panel, consisting of the funders (Ellandi LLP) and key local stakeholders, selected nine projects which benefited from a share of the £15,000 grant. The Pentagon Community Fund is an initative formed between Ellandi and ProjectDirt, in association with local newspaper Medway Messenger, offering up to £2,000 to community projects and social enterprises that have a positive social and/or environmental impact located in the local area of Chatham. The aim of the allocated grant is to unlock the potential for the local community to access funds and achieve their goals, providing a kick-start for projects in the area which have the potential to improve the neighbourhood.
