Europe’s biggest shoe retailer, Deichmann shoes, has opened its doors to their new store in Chatham town centre last week. The store has created 12 permanent jobs for the local area, including two supervisor positions in addition to shop floor and cashier roles. The retail giant’s new 406m2 unit is located in the Pentagon Shopping Centre and is the company’s 98th store opening in the UK. The shop itself has undergone a complete £200,000 refurbishment, in order to reflect the brand identity of Deichmann’s 3,500 strong global portfolio. Like its counterparts, the Chatham store benefits from a simple, customer friendly layout, with all the stock available on the shop floor so that customers can easily locate and try on the style and size of their choice.
Deichmann has an impressive range of ladies shoes, bags and accessories, and also stocks a full range of men’s and children’s shoes, as well as unique and exclusive lines from brands such as adidas and Nike, sold at characteristically unbeatable prices. Jonathan Rutter, Store Manager of Deichmann Chatham, said: “We’re really excited to have opened our doors in Chatham and are thrilled to have been able to help create some new local jobs. “We’re looking forward to getting to know all the local shoppers and hopefully becoming a well-loved fixture in the Pentagon.” |
