One of the UK's fastest growing discount retailers, B&M, have opened the doors to their brand new Bargains store at Chatham Waterfront earlier this week (November 3). The 15,000 sq ft retail store on Medway Street has created a total of 70 jobs, varying from sales assistants to store managers, in a welcome boost to the local economy. The store was officially opened by Mayor Cllr David Wildey and his wife, Denise. Existing and potential customers can expect to find a wide variety of branded products including toys, food & drink, pet range, health & beauty and homewares, all set at a value price. The retail unit was previously occupied by Texas Homecare and more recently by office supply store Staples, until it closed on January 14, 2017. A building contractors team from South East Refurbishments commenced a £235,000 refit and refurbishment of the store on June 26, in order to accommodate B&M's new branch.
