After buying the Dockside Outlet Centre at Chatham Maritime over a £9.1 million deal at the end of March, Peter Everest has pledged to revive the centre. He has revived many other shopping centres across the country and is now planning the outlet centre in Chatham to be one of them. His retail management company, WD Ltd, has remodelled shopping areas in Newcastle, Derby, Huddersfield and Stevenage. He has pledged to invest heavily in revamping the Dockside Outlet Centre by filling in empty units with big brands, which is already home to Marks & Spencers, Sports Direct, Choice and its flagship The Range - which underwent an expansion last year. Mr Everest has announced that he has already been in talks with at least three retailers, all of which are household names. Also, he has said he was focused on bringing in more clothing and catering companies into the outlet centre. He has been interested in buying the Dockside Outlet Centre since two years ago, when it first went on the market.
Anthony Sutton, centre manager, commented: "Our previous owners have taken us to this stage, but it is now time to move on a step." "It is early days, but I am confident this will herald a new era for Dockside."

It's really hard to park here. I have found some of the general, staff (not car park Wardens) some what aggressive just dropping some one off. I think it's badly managed.

I’ve visited dockside shopping centre today and I was appalled by the filthy public toilets I had to expose my 3 year old granddaughter to. I have complained to mr Sutton but I feel fell on deaf ears. I have posted my thoughts on Medway Facebook page and have been inundated with responses from fellow shoppers with their experiences of the appalling cleanliness of the facilities. Many have pledged never to frequent the centre again. In this time of infection and disease surely cleanliness is paramount. I did suggest mr Sutton inspect the toilets with me but he declined stating that the toilet is checked hourly. This may be true but it certainly hasn’t been cleaned in sometime. Comments are closed.
