Plans for 202 family homes and 63 extra care apartments on a new housing development have been given the go-ahead by Medway Council's planning committee. Work on the second and final phase of Horsted Park will commence shortly, including extensive public open spaces and community facilities. Countryside Properties are nearing completion the first phase of the new housing development with 87 homes, on the former MidKent College site in Maidstone Road, Chatham. Iain McPherson, managing director of Countryside's new homes and communities South division, commented: "Our plans for Horsted Park will create an environment where high-quality homes, excellent facilities and infrastructure and pleasant green open spaces combine to offer a welcoming place for people to call home."
This next phase of Horsted Park will also deliver new green open spaces for the public and new community facilities at the heart of the developing village.
