A global organisation providing tailor-made, flexible care at home for the elderly has opened its first office in Medway. Home Instead is the latest business to join Chatham High Street, offering a variety of award-winning support services to people in their own home to the area and parts of Gravesham. These could range from companionship, house help, shopping and personal care. Home Instead also specialises in dementia and end of life care. Home Instead has a network of highly-trained and compassionate caregivers, who are a team of local individuals providing personal home care that is comfortable and tailored to the needs of the client.
At least 50 new jobs will be created at the branch now that it has opened its doors, joining over 250 branches across the UK as part of the global franchise. Home Instead Medway director and owner Henry Iwunze said that he was "glad to be part of the High Street". He previously worked in the NHS for over 15 years, having started his career as mental health care nurse across different hospital settings before moving into team leadership and ward management roles. Henry has also served as a support worker for over three years, working with older adults in both residential and domiciliary care settings. Care at home is widely recognised as one of the safest options for elderly people, ensuring their independence is maintained in a familiar environment, while reducing the risk of infection and benefitting from one-to-one support.
